• Lancaster man accused of Moorpark, Ventura County postal mail theft (vcstar.com) — Moorpark residents' stolen mail has been recovered after deputies tied a Lancaster man to vandalized community mailboxes and broader thefts across Ventura County. Investigators worked with the Postal Service to identify a suspect vehicle, search his home, and seize stolen mail. The man is jailed on felony charges with a Ventura County court hearing set for Aug. 31.
   

• Ventura College, Moorpark College football teams drop season openers (vcstar.com) — Moorpark College's football team opened the season with a road loss despite big plays from local standouts, including a 92-yard receiving day and early touchdowns. The Raiders surrendered 24 unanswered points after taking a quick 14-7 lead. Moorpark, now 0-1, looks to rebound with a trip to Cerritos this Saturday.
