Bands Battle at Civic Center

Correction: Friday night's Battle of the Band took place at the civic center. The preliminary competitions took place at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center.

A band competition that began way back in Febrary with preliminary rounds ended Friday night. The Addiction, of Simi Valley, is this year's winner of Moorpark's Battle of the Bands, an annual competition sponsored by the Moorpark Civic Center. The competition came down to two bands: The Addiction and Moorpark's Mark Cross Band, which happens to be last year's winner.

Judging was done completely by audience members and the winners receive $200 plus the opportunity to perform at the city's annual Third of July event.
