The Moorpark Battle of the Bands continued Friday night with a preliminary competion t at the Arroyo Vista Community Center featuring Iron Giant, Bad Posture, the Mark Cross Band and Andy Polito and Nick Tomick.
With help from audience members, who cast votes for their favorite bands, the Mark Cross Band—made up of Kevin Lopez,17, on drums, Hunter Van Dam,17, on bass, John Butzer,16, on lead guitar and Mark Cross,18, lead vocals and rhythm guitar—took first place.
Second place bands Bad Posture and Iron Giant will be advancing to the next round for a playoff as well.
