Love Avocados?

Who out there loves avocados? Raise your hand.

Are you raising your hand, saying "YES, ME, I love avocados!!" GREAT! This is the blog for you. 

In Moorpark, there is a very unique lady - called The Avocado Diva - and she is PASSIONATE about avocados. How to get them, how to grow them, how to eat them, how to cook with them, how to bake (yes, bake) with them. Where they came from, where they are going to. All things avocado, all the time. 

So with no further ado - let's introduce you to The Avocado Diva - 

The Diva was born as a 4th generation Ventura County Resident. Her great grandfather AND her grandfather worked on ranches with names like "McGrath", "Lynn" and "Camarillo."  They all grew avocados. The Diva grew up running through lemon groves, orange trees and avocado orchards (back when kids were "free range kids"). She remembers ALL KINDS of avocados - not just Hass. 

Do you? 

Have you ever eaten an avocado that was NOT a Hass? Most people say something like this: 

(a) I didn't know there WERE other kinds of avocados

or 

(b) Oh yes, I remember my grandpa had a tree in his backyard.  It had these HUGE, GREEN avocados. They were the BEST.
