4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular 2025: Janss Marketplace, Thousand Oaks

Ojai Studio Artists Launch Week-Long Special Exhibition to Support Arts in the Ojai Valley
OJAI, CA — April 2026— The Ojai Studio Artists (OSA) invites the community to participate in a unique Exhibition Fundraiser taking place April 14-19 at blanchesylvia – 212 a E. Ojai Ave, Ojai. 
Each artwork will be accompanied by a box; visitors may purchase tickets – available for $20 each or books of 20 for $100 – and place as many tickets as they wish into the box beside the piece they hope to take home. The more tickets an individual places in a box, the greater the chance of being selected. At the closing reception on April 19th from 5-7 pm, one ticket will be drawn from each box, and the selected entrant will receive that artwork. Additional pieces by participating artists will also be for sale.
Proceeds from the event go toward OSA’s work supporting Ojai arts, including its scholarship and mentorship programs at Nordhoff High School. Through these programs, OSA works to provide financial assistance, creative guidance, and meaningful connections between established artists and the next generation.
“Art has the power to build community and open doors for young people,” said Julie Empson, OSA’s co-president. “Through this fundraiser, we’re not only celebrating the work of our local artists—we’re investing in the creative future of the Ojai Valley.”
This show is part of OSA’s broader mission of strengthening the cultural fabric of the region through community engagement, mentorship, and artistic exchange.

MOORPARK WOMEN’S CLUB MAY 8th MEETING will feature Dan Parziale from Mesa Farm Organization of Ojai. Mesa works with young adults, age 18-24, who are facing homelessness with a focus on young adults who are aging out of foster care. 20% experience being unhoused the day they age out, and 50% experience it within 18 months. The combination of single occupancy tiny homes wrapped around a main central home gives participants both ownership of space and easy access to community. A stable place to call home is essential; however, it is insufficient on its own to promote overall wellness. Mesa provides a trauma-informed program that supports the whole person. Mesa's program includes therapeutic interventions, mental health supports, educational opportunities, vocational training, and community-based work, all while working towards permanent housing. The club is considering contributing to this organization. 

We will be meeting at the Sycamore Room at the Arroyo Vista Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark CA 93021. There is a social hour at 9:30 with a call to order at 10:00. Registration is $30 and lunch will be a Taco Bar. Reservations are needed by April 29th. For further information, email mwfcmtgreservations@gmail.com
