California Bun Will Give Away Free Stuffed Buns on Thanksgiving Morning for the Third Year Running
After handing out more than 650 free buns last year, the family-owned Moorpark restaurant aims to top that count with its Third Annual “Gobble Up a Free Bun” Thanksgiving event.
Moorpark, CA – California Bun will give one free breakfast bun to every guest on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. It is the restaurant's third annual Thanksgiving giveaway. Last year it served more than 650 free buns, and this year owners Kevin and Aliona Mata hope to reach 750.
Guests can choose from California Bun's breakfast buns: fresh brioche stuffed with fillings like egg, bacon, cheddar and jack cheese, and Mexican chorizo. Families are welcome, and every person gets a bun.
"The turkey isn't the only one getting stuffed on Thanksgiving," said Kevin Mata. “It’s the perfect Thanksgiving breakfast. Start the day stuffed and still save room for dinner.”
"The Last two year's events was such a joyful success that we knew we had to do it again," said Aliona Mata. "Moorpark has supported us since day one, and this is our way of saying thank you."
The coffee bar will be open all morning, with holiday drinks including the Eggnog Latte, Peppermint Mocha and Pumpkin Spice Latte at regular menu prices.
Buns will not be sold on Thanksgiving morning. Guests who want more can pre-order 6- or 12-bun boxes by Tuesday, Nov. 24 for pickup Thanksgiving morning at californiabun.com/free-thanksgiving-buns.
