Oxnard College Student Government Presents: Carl Sagan Day.
This event will be held on November 6th 2013 from 4-9pm, three days before the late astronomers birthday. The event will take place on the Oxnard College Campus. It will be a marvelous celebration of science. We aim to show people how amazing the universe can be, and tell our story, the story of the cosmos. To help us accomplish this feat we have invited multiple professionals with PhD's in their respective fields, to come and speak on the topics we will be covering including astronomy, physics, biology, and many more. We have put together clips from across the web that demonstrate scientific concepts, including clips from Carl Sagan's television series entitled 'Cosmos'. Throughout this adventure will be many opportunities for attendees to win prizes by answering science related questions including: How old is the solar system? What is the most abundant element in the universe? etc.
This is an all age event and is open to the public. Drinks and snacks will be provided. It will be at the Black Box Theatere in the Performing Arts Center @ Oxnard College. 4000 S Rose Ave. Oxnard, CA.
