City Council to Discuss Castro Building Art Project

It’s a triple header tonight at City Hall. The Community and Economic Development Committee will meet at 6 p.m., followed by the City Council and Redevelopment Agency at 7 p.m.
The EDC will discuss changing the land use designation on nearly 70 acres and will discuss the current leakage of sales tax from the city.
The Redevelopment Agency will consider an agreement for services with Ken Rayzor for general manager services of the High Street Arts Center for a year.

The City Council will consider authorizing an agreement with Library Systems and Services (LSSI), the company through which the City contracts library management., to continue its services through 2016.
The Council will also consider awarding the Ruben Castro Human Services Center public art project and authorizing the city manager to sign an agreement for design, fabrication and installation with all costs not to exceed $138,000.

They will consider retrofitting existing lighting at various city properties, extending an agreement with Parsons Transportation Group for preliminary engineering, environmental analysis, design and right-of-way activities for the installation of sound walls on State Route 23. Finally, they’ll consider naming a voting delegate and alternates for the League of California Cities annual conference.
