City Council to Discuss General Plan Housing Update
The panel will decide whether the element is ready to be sent up to the state level for review.

Among items the City Council will consider when it convenes for its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday will be the housing element update of the 2008-2014 general plan. The council will discuss forwarding the element to the California Department of Housing and Community Development for reviews and comments.
It will be a busy night for the council, with six items up for presentation, action or discussion and 13 consent calendar items.
In addition to the general plan housing element, items up for discussion include whether to give the go-ahead for preparation of a feasibility study on a second access to Arroyo Vista Community Park; an update of the annual investment policy and a resolution establishing the city's investment policy for fiscal year 2010/2011 and paying off a CalPERS side fund.

Items for consideration on the consent calendar include an implementation agreement for a countywide storm water program; purchase of traffic signal poles and equipment for a signal at Collins and University drives; destruction of city records that meet or exceed retention period guidelines and waving the formal bidding procedure for purchasing new staff computers.
There will also be some closed session items such as conferences with the city's legal counsel in regard to anticipated and existing litigation, conference with a labor negotiator and employee performance evaluations.
