The City of Moorpark enjoys an active Art In Public Places program, which uses funding from developers specifically for public art in our community. To improve this program, earlier this year the City embarked on the development of an Arts Master Plan. The goal of the Arts Master Plan is to establish a community-wide vision that will guide the City’s future public art activities. The City has contracted with non-profit arts consulting firm Arts Orange County (Arts OC) to lead the development of the Arts Master Plan.

An essential part of the project involves evaluating the community’s attitudes and interests regarding art. This is being achieved through a variety of community engagement channels, including stakeholder interviews, public visioning sessions, and a communitywide arts survey released earlier this week.

The community arts survey was developed by Arts OC to gather input from throughout the Moorpark community and build on the feedback that has already been collected through other channels. The survey is available online in both English and Spanish language versions at the following links:

English – www.moorparkca.gov/ArtsSurvey

Spanish – www.moorparkca.gov/EncuestaDeArte

Printed versions of the survey are available at Moorpark City Hall, Moorpark Active Adult Center, and the Moorpark Public Library. Everyone in the community is encouraged to complete the survey, which should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
