City Seeks Aging Agency Advisory Council Applicants

The City of Moopark is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the advisory council for the Area Agency on Aging, which advises and promotes the development of senior citizen services.

The Area Agency on Aging plans and coordinates senior citizen programs and administers funds that come to the country via the Older American Act.

The agency's advisory council meets seven times a year, in January, March, May, June, September and November. Meetings take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the Advisory Council Center in Ventura.

Successful applicants must be 60 or older, a resident of Moorpark and must be registered to vote in the city. Ther term expires June 30, 2012.

Applications are available at the Moorpark Active Adult Center and at City Hall, 799 Moorpark Ave. It's also available on the city's website. They must be submitted to the city clerk no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 29.
