City Seeks Applicants for Library Board
Board members will make recommendations for library policy.

The City of Moorpark is seeking applicants for the Moorpark City Library Board.
Board members’ duties may include recommending to the city council rules, regulations and bylaws necessary for the administration, government and protection of the library; recommending the purchase of books, journals, publications and other property; and recommending the duties and powers of the librarian and other employees of the library.
Initially, the City Council will appoint five board members to serve beginning in July. For this first term, one member will serve for a year, two for two years and two for three years. Thereafter, the staggered terms for all members will be three years. Library board members shall receive compensation for their attendance at each regular meeting.

Applicants must be Moorpark residents, registered voters and have a special knowledge of libraries, library programs, or related subjects. All applicants will be required to attend the regular City Council meeting of either June 15 or July 6 to make a brief presentation on qualifications and interest in the appointment.
Applications are available at City Hall, 799 Moorpark Ave. and online. Applications may only be submitted to the city clerk at City Hall and must be received by 5 p.m. June 3.
