High Street's Little Theater to Stage 'Little Shop'
The High Street Arts Center's production will run through Nov. 13.

The is becoming overgrown with plants, specifically a man-eating plant named Audrey II. This, of course, is for the staging of Little Shop of Horrors, which opens Friday.
Everything’s coming up roses for Seymour Krelborn after he discovers an unusual Venus Flytrap type plant that, unknown to him, is an evil alien bent on world domination.
Before it picked up its doo-wop soundtrack, the show was a 1960s movie staring Jack Nicholson. It returned to Hollywood in 1986 and starred Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, John Candy and Bill Murray.

The High Street production will be directed by Tami Adams Moore Keaton and stars Nikko Arce as Seymour; Dale Alpert as Mr. Mushnik, Seymour’s boss; Veronica Dunne as Audrey, Seymour’s love interest and John Tedrick as Orin Scrivello, evil dentist and Audrey’s abusive boyfriend.
Friday’s opening night tickets include a champagne reception at High Street’s Secret Garden restaurant following the performance and are $23 for adults, $19 for seniors 55 and older, students, teachers and military personnel and $15 for children 12 and younger. The theater advises that “while there is little to offend in either the language or presentation in this musical farce, it remains a black comedy and parents are advise to use discretion with young children.”
