Emergency response begins before an emergency even occurs. Prevention and planning are key to saving lives and property. But how should we prioritize our emergency preparation efforts and dollars? Should we build new detention basins and stormdrains to prevent flooding? Should we harden buildings for earthquakes? Should we harden electrical infrastructure to prevent wildfires and power outages?

These and other actions are all critically important, and the Ventura County Office of Emergency Services is asking the public - residents and businesses - to help them prioritize what is most important to the people of Ventura County. Please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey as they update the Ventura County Hazard Mitigation Plan, which will outline the County's top priorities and help the County get funding to help protect everyone in Moorpark and the entire region from emergencies.
