Assemblyman Jeff Gorell and Vintage Fire Truck Coming to Moorpark Sept. 18

California Assemblyman Jeff Gorell, a candidate for Congress, plans to bring his vintage 1969 American LaFrance fire truck to The Grinder restaurant parking lot in Moorpark on Thursday, Sept. 18 as part of his campaign tour, as well as to generate awareness and support for the efforts of Performance Nursery to remain in Moorpark.

The event is set for 2 p.m. Sept. 18 at The Grinder restaurant parking lot, 1 W. Los Angeles Ave. in Moorpark, at the corner of Los Angeles Avenue and Moorpark Road.

The event presents an opportunity for local residents to meet Gorell, and see up close his vintage 1969 fire truck.

Residents also can learn more about Performance Nursery’s effort to remain in Moorpark, on land leased from Southern California Edison. Performance Nursery aims to generate awareness of its plight as it faces a quick-eviction action by SCE from property the shrub and tree nursery has leased for 28 years.
