What do gourmet hot dogs, Cupcake Wars and ushering all have in common? They’re all a part of Boy Scout Sunday, February 26 at Moorpark Presbyterian Church.
Troop 604, chartered and hosted by Moorpark Presbyterian, will serve as ushers at the 8:15 & 10:45am services. Then, beginning at 10:30am in the church parking lot, they’ll offer specialty hot dogs from Haunt Dawgz Gourmet Food Truck as well as cupcakes from For Heaven’s Cakes (featured on the Food Network’s ‘Cupcake Wars’) and pizza from Me-N-Ed’s, all to raise funds for the Robert Grimaud Fund.
“Rob was an inspirational and active father and Scout leader in the church,” said Pastor Dave Wilkinson. “Rob’s sons were young members of our congregation and the Troop who were mentored after Rob’s passing to achieve their Eagle rank.”

Greg Gillis-Smith, whose son Paul is in the Troop, added, “This fund has been established to help Boy Scouts of Troop 604 to attend camps and trips when finances would otherwise inhibited their ability to grow and advance in the Troop. Troop 604 is strongly rooted in the goal to help boys become leaders by helping them achieve merit badges and rank advancements and Rob demonstrated this effort through his life and now through this fund.”
Wilkinson noted that Scout Sunday is a national observance to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting, adding, “We hope the community will join us for this special Sunday and enjoy all this amazing food to benefit a wonderful cause.”
