California Lutheran University's Tournees Festival presents this film about freelance photographer Lili (Romane Bohringer), who has been hired to document new infrastructures in her town's sister community in Senegal. The entire village turns out to welcome her, their affection immediate and genuine. She focuses her camera on the villagers and their profoundly communal existence, and her photography becomes a means of communication and a salve for her own isolation.
Admission is free. The Tournées Festival: French Films on the CLU Campus is made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Ministry of Culture. The Tournées Festival is sponsored by the Florence Gould Foundation, the Grand Marnier Foundation and highbrow entertainment. The film is subtitled in English and will be screened in the Preus-Brandt Forum.
