MHS Original Holiday Musical

Moorpark High School’s Musical Show Production class will
present its original holiday musical “Santa Baby” on Friday and Saturday, December 9 and 10, at 7 p.m. in the MHS Performing Arts Center.

“Santa Baby” presents the history of Santa Claus and his wife, Holly Berry, from when they met as teenagers. This isn’t a typical romance, though, as Jack Frost completes this love triangle as both he and Santa vie for Holly’s affection. There are some fantastic musical and dance numbers featuring reindeer and elves that accompany this creative depiction of the budding romance between Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The award winning Musical Show Production class presents
original musicals each year – students develop and present different story ideas to their peers and the class votes on its favorite. Students apply for and receive different leadership positions, like producer or director, or may
serve on one of many committees, like script, music, set or publicity. The students take responsibility for writing the play and lyrics, designing costumes and sets, choreographing dance numbers, staging the show, promoting the show, designing the programs, tickets and posters, and the overall presentation of the musical.
