The Church is ‘on a mission from God’ - complete with Blues Mobile.  Community invited to a talent show parody of the 1980 movie “The Blues Brothers”

Moorpark, CA:  Putting a unique twist on the annual talent show, Moorpark Presbyterian Church invites the community to The Blues Brothers Rhythm, Blues & Talent Revue Saturday, April 21 at 6pm.  The show is followed by refreshments.

“We’re ‘getting the band back together,’” joked Pastor Dave Wilkinson, referencing a line from the movie.  “While we have a talent show every year, this year we’re basing the show on the movie ‘The Blue Brothers.’  And, in addition to the music and comedy acts from within our church, we’ve also invited the Moorpark High School Jazz Band, the High School Dance Team as well as groups from the Middle Schools to perform.”

Fellowship Elder Christopher Bryan is heading up the team putting the show together and even located a ‘Blues Mobile’ like the one showcased in the movie – in St. Louis!  Bryan noted, “I drove it back – an adventure in itself! – and now it’s been transformed, complete with megaphone on the roof.  So watch for it around Moorpark!”

Wilkinson said, “It’s going to be a great evening of laughs, fun and wonderful music – and there will also be an opportunity to donate to benefit the MPC youth program and High School and Middle School PTSA groups.”  Bryan added, “We love being part of the community and look forward to supporting the schools while giving everyone a great show.”
