Free Landfill Day Draws a Crowd

Moorpark and Thousand Oaks residents dropped off large bulky items and green materials.

Moorpark and Thousand Oaks residents were able to discard unwanted bulky items and green materials for free on April 23 during landfill day at the Simi Valley Landfill. Agromin collected tree branches and other plant materials, old wooden fences, wooden pallets and construction lumber. Agromin employees kept the process moving smoothly to accommodate the long line of cars and trucks. The collected material will be chipped and composted for use by growers, landscapers and residents. The landfill day is a great way to show the public the recycling process in action.

Additional free landfill days are scheduled for Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark and surrounding unincorporated areas. For a schedule and list of accepted items, go to http://bit.ly/2pYrivO. Valid identification is necessary to show proof of residency.
