LightGabler Free Employment Law Seminar: Handling Employee Absences (Excused and Unexcused) with Paid Time Off, Vacation, Man

Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting a free employment law seminar, “There’s No Excuse for That! Handling Employee Absences (Excused and Unexcused) with Paid Time Off, Vacation, Mandatory Sick Leave and Personal Leave.” The seminar will be held twice: Tuesday, June 14 in Oxnard and Tuesday, June 28 in Simi Valley.

California employers lost flexibility in "paid time off" options with the introduction of mandatory sick leave in 2015. Employee absences can present legal challenges for employers in determining when to permit an absence, when to bring the employee back, what leaves and benefits to offer and how to maintain ongoing business activities without key staff members.

In this seminar geared for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, employment law attorney Karen L. Gabler will discuss the employer's rights, obligations and questions regarding employee absences and paid or unpaid time off. Topics include employer obligations under the 2015 mandatory sick leave rules, current legal requires for paid time off, vacation and sick leave policies, terminating an employee for excessive absence and how to effectively track employees’ use of paid time off.

The Oxnard seminar will be held at the Oxnard Courtyard Marriott (600 East Esplanade Dr., Oxnard) and the Simi Valley seminar will take place at the Best Western Posada Royale Hotel (1775 Madera Rd., Simi Valley).
