Meet an “Amazing” Whose Acting Chops Still Win Great Praise
Ed Asner has won seven Emmys, making him the most honored male performer in the history of the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Ed Asner, at 89, is living proof that talent knows no age. Most recently, he appears in the new Netflix show “Dead to Me.” His acting ability remains solid (if anything, his star shines brighter than ever). Ed’s popular “Lou Grant” character earned acclaim on both “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Lou Grant” for decades. His fame didn’t stop there. Ed subsequently performed in numerous TV shows, movies, and as the voice in animated films--all this after working in his youth on the assembly line for General Motors, and serving with the U.S. Army Signal Corps, appearing in plays that toured Army camps located in Europe. Oh, and Ed has won seven Emmys, making him the most honored male performer in the history of the Primetime Emmy Awards. Sweet!
