Meet An "Amazing" Whose Vital WWII Work Is Now Revealed

Judy Parsons, 99, is finally speaking openly about her work in the WAVES as a Navy Lieutenant and codebreaker during WWII.

Judy Parsons, at 99, is finally speaking openly about her work in the WAVES as a Navy Lieutenant and codebreaker during WWII. She was part of the team whose mission it was to decode the infamous Nazi encryption device used to communicate the Nazi war plans. Judy’s focus was on deciphering Nazi orders sent to German submarines to then help the US Navy locate and target the enemy subs.

From the early 40s to the time her work was finally declassified in the 1990s, Judy couldn’t speak about her work to anyone--not her husband, family or friends. She was sworn to secrecy and held that secret all those years, letting people think she’d been a sort of upper-echelon secretary. A true patriot, indeed!
