The Moorpark City Council is now accepting applications for appointment to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee. The appointment is for one member to serve a two-year term to expire in December 2022.

Applicants must be a resident of the City of Moorpark and registered to vote in Moorpark. The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee offers citizens the opportunity to participate in the in the preservation of parkland and the improvement of recreational facilities in the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy's jurisdiction. The Committee generally meets monthly at locations throughout the Santa Monica Mountains region, though it is currently meeting via teleconference and telephone due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All applicants will be required to virtually attend (via Zoom) a regular City Council meeting on January 6, 2021, to make a brief presentation (not to exceed three minutes) on qualifications and interest in the appointment. Use of a PowerPoint presentation will be permitted if the City Clerk has been provided with the file no less than 24 hours prior to the meeting. Failure to make a presentation shall result in disqualification for appointment.
