Parks Announces Congressional Candidacy
The Ventura County supervisor will run in the newly created 26th District.

Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks announced Monday she will run for the newly formed 26th Congressional District, which includes most of Ventura County, including Moorpark.
The announcement comes on the heels of Rep. Elton Gallegly's retirement announcement Friday night.
Parks will officially launch her campaign Jan. 21 at Freedom Park, according to a statement issued Monday. She joins former County Superviser Steve Bennett, business man David Cruz-Thayne and Moorpark City Council member David Pollock.

According to her press release, Parks' campaign will only accept donations from individuals and will not accept money from political parties, unions or political action committees.
"I've been significantly outspent and am living proof money doesn't always buy elections," Park said in Monday's announcement.
