Pedestrian Killed by Metro Train Headed to Moorpark
A person stepped in front of the train, dying instantly and forcing passengers to be shuttled by bus.

NORTHRIDGE, CA -- A pedestrian was struck and killed today by a Metrolink train in an apparent suicide near the Northridge Station.
The victim was struck about 6:35 p.m. by train number 121 on the Ventura County Line, which was bound for Moorpark from downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The victim, whose gender and age were not immediately disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 8700 block of Wilbur Avenue, near Parthenia Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

No one aboard the train was injured. Passengers remained aboard awaiting a bus transfer.
The fatality was an apparent suicide, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
