The City welcomes members of the public to join us at the virtual Community Visioning Workshop where you will utilize engaging and innovative online platforms to share your ideas to help create a Vision for Moorpark’s future. What will our community look like in 2050? What businesses will drive our local economy? Where will people live and work? How will we get from place to place? We need you to help us plan! What Is a Vision?
The Moorpark Vision Statement is our community’s description of Moorpark in the year 2050. The Vision will serve as the foundation for all goals and policies contained within the General Plan. The Vision serves as the “common ground” from which all decisions are made, and it identifies priority areas where resources should be focused to ensure that our City continues to be a great place to live, work, and play.

Background
In June 2020, the City of Moorpark kicked off an update of the City’s General Plan, which has not been comprehensively updated since it was originally adopted in 1986. Many of the General Plan elements are more than 20 years old and need to be revised to reflect the aspirations of our community today and for the City to address contemporary challenges such as housing, transportation, and the environment. The primary goal of updating the General Plan is to ensure that it reflects the values of the existing community, identifies the community’s vision for the City in the future, and provides a roadmap to achieve that vision. By updating the General Plan, Moorpark seeks to provide transparent and efficient city services that address the needs of our community.
