Signups Underway For YMCA Weeklong Resident Camp in Big Bear
Kids entering grades fourth through 12 in the fall can explore the outdoors during the week-long YMCA Camp Oakes near Big Bear.

Kids entering grades fourth through 12 in the fall can explore the outdoors during the weeklong YMCA Camp Oakes in the Big Bear mountains, July 8 through July 15. Signups are underway. The camp is sponsored by the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, which serves the Conejo Valley, Moorpark and Simi Valley.
For more than 100 years, Y resident camps have been offering campers opportunities to build and strengthen positive character values and appreciate the differences in others. Through the skill-building opportunities through camp programs, campers of all abilities have fun while learning confidence and values to take home from their YMCA resident camp experience.
“Camp Oakes is a beautiful setting where campers get to connect with nature, away from all their electronic devices,” says Ryan Fowler, Simi Y’s senior director of youth programs. “Campers grow as individuals while making life-long friends.”
