Yale Comes to University Village Retirement Community

The Yale Whiffenpoofs make an appearance at University Village in Thousand Oaks.

The Yale Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group, recently brought their unique brand of glee to University Village retirement community in Thousand Oaks, Calif. Wearing their signature tuxedo tails, 12 senior men from Yale dazzled University Village residents and guests with humor, charm and spot-on harmonies while performing tunes by Cole Porter, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel and many others.

The Whiffenpoofs were founded in 1909 as a senior quartet that met weekly at Mory’s Temple Bar, a famous Yale tavern, and has been going strong ever since. This year’s group includes Brandon Sherrod, who chose the Whiffenpoofs over playing basketball for Yale his senior year.
