1 Dead In Mountain View Crash: Police
BREAKING: All lanes were reopened at 6 p.m. Monday following an eight-hour investigation into the fatal solo-vehicle crash.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Eastbound lanes of West Middlefield Road in Mountain View were reopened at about 6 p.m. Monday, some eight hours after the driver of a white work truck perished in a crash into a tree. Mountain View police say a middle-aged man was driving the pick-up truck westbound on W. Middlefield, just west of Rengstorff Avenue, at about 9:50 a.m. when the truck crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and struck a tree along the sidewalk.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities have not released his name or city of residence.
All eastbound lanes of W. Middlefield, east of Rengstorff, were closed most of Monday as the crash was investigated.

As of early evening, however, police had yet to determine what caused the tragic crash.
Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
