The 100 Women Charitable Foundation started in 2006 with 100 women willing to donate $100 each and has grown to include a membership base of 559 women who raised $172,500 in 2014. Over the past eight years, the Foundation has awarded almost $1 million in grants. Since the organization is run 100% by volunteers, 100% of member donations are donated to worthy nonprofit organizations.
“It was exciting to see a room full of women who were carefully considering the presentations and trying to determine which of the very worthy causes were most deserving of the grant awards,” explained Teri Zingale, one of the founders. “We are a small, yet highly effective foundation, and we are thrilled to donate to these impactful nonprofit organizations.”
