• Pianist's musical journey includes concert in Mtn. View Oct. 27 (losaltosonline.com) — Mountain View residents can hear acclaimed pianist Kotaro Fukuma perform his water-themed recital "Shimmering Water" at the Community School of Music and Arts on Oct. 27. The intimate Tateuchi Hall concert, part of the Japan Society of Northern California's Arts from Japan series, blends familiar classics with rarer works and marks Fukuma's Bay Area debut.
• Mountain View opposes ICE detention facility construction (losaltosonline.com) — Mountain View's City Council has passed an emergency zoning ordinance to block construction of ICE detention facilities, aligning with Gilroy and other South Bay communities. City leaders and residents argued the move protects the city's large immigrant population and uses local land-use powers to influence a proposed Santa Clara County facility now facing legal and environmental review.
