• LinkedIn pays Mountain View $1.6M to extend timeline for office redevelopment (mv-voice.com) — Mountain View's City Council has granted LinkedIn five extra years, until 2034, to complete major office redevelopment at its headquarters near East Middlefield Road and Highway 237, in exchange for a $1.6 million payment. Council members then voted to direct the entire sum into the city's affordable housing fund, rejecting staff's proposal to split it with parkland acquisition. • pollinator pathmaker brings buzzing bees back to berlin with foliage-filled artworks (designboom.com) — An international art-and-ecology project called Pollinator Pathmaker now includes an installation at Google's Gradient Canopy in Mountain View, using algorithmically designed plantings to support bees and other pollinators. Originating in Europe, the project lets institutions and individuals create region-specific gardens that prioritize insect needs over human aesthetics, turning living landscapes into long-term artworks that also boost biodiversity.
