• Moon Landing 2028: Simulations from NASA Ames in Mountain View help prepare for Artemis mission (abc7.com) — Work at NASA Ames in Mountain View is playing a key role in preparing astronauts for the Artemis Moon missions, using the world's largest vertical motion simulator to rehearse lunar landings. Engineers there are refining spacecraft displays, training methods, and vehicle behavior, with findings feeding directly into mission planning teams in Houston.
• Mayor's 'strong' policies leave police with Flock photos longer than other Bay Area cities (missionlocal.org) — Mountain View is highlighted as one of several Bay Area jurisdictions that have already canceled their contracts with Flock license-plate cameras, even as San Francisco keeps its system but tweaks data-retention rules. San Francisco will now move data off Flock after 30 days but keep it internally for 11 more months, sparking debate over privacy, oversight, and how long police should store drivers' movements.
