Authorities ID Man Fatally Struck By Caltrain At Sunnyvale Station

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA -- A man who was accidentally hit and killed by a southbound train at the Sunnyvale Caltrain station on Friday morning has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 40-year-old David Kay of Sunnyvale.

Medical examiners ruled Kay's death an accident. Caltrain officials confirmed that the death was accidental but did not immediately offer further information.

Train No. 218 hit Kay at 8:21 a.m. at the station, which is located at 121 W. Evelyn Ave.

None of the 60 or so passengers on board the train were injured, according to Caltrain officials.
