Beautiful, Handmade Books on Display at Library

There are star books, pop-up books, folded books, flag books, books in candy tins, books in boxes, laser-cut books, codex books,...

Visit an exhibit of handmade artists’ books by the Bay Area Book Artists (BABA) on the 2nd floor of the Mountain View Public Library.

There are books made of fabric, books made of recycled materials, books made of clay, and of course, books made of paper, but not ordinary books made of paper.

You will find examples of dozens of different bindings and kinds of books. There are star books, pop-up books, folded books, flag books, books in candy tins, books in boxes, laser-cut books, codex books, accordion-fold books, and more. There are examples of Coptic bindings, chopstick bindings, caterpillar bindings, woven bindings, pamphlet-stitched bindings, sewn bindings, and more.
