Child On Bike Seriously Injured In Crash With Shuttle In Mountain View
Responders found the boy lying on the road near Castro Street and El Camino Real. [Breaking]

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – A boy on his bicycle suffered serious injuries in a collision with a shuttle vehicle Friday afternoon in downtown Mountain View, police said.
Officers responded to calls of a bicyclist lying on the road near Castro Street and El Camino Real around 3:15 p.m., police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said.
Arriving officers found out the child was on a bicycle and lost control while he rode next to a Mountain View Community Shuttle vehicle that was traveling at normal speeds, Nelson said.

The boy was wearing a helmet when he collided with the shuttle vehicle and wasn't run over, according to Nelson.
He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated for serious injuries, Nelson said.

No other injuries were reported. Drugs and alcohol don't appear to be factors in the collision, according to Nelson.
