Child Wounded In South Bay Elementary School Playground Stabbing: Police
Police said the suspect was another child but they didn't attend that school or after-school program.
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Officers are investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday afternoon in a school play yard, resulting in an injury to a child participating in an after-school program, police said.
At around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Mountain View police and fire departments responded to Bubb Elementary School at 525 Hans Ave. The child was treated by the fire department at the school for their injury and then released to a parent, police said.
Police said the suspect, another child, has been taken into custody. Police said that the suspect was neither a student at Bubb Elementary School nor a participant in the after-school program.

Police said that there is no ongoing threat to the community. The incident remains under active investigation.
