Commuter Alert: Overturned Big-Rig, SUV Blocks Hwy 101

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – A collision this morning has left a big rig and an SUV overturned on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose, blocking two lanes, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The crash was reported just north of East Brokaw Road at 4:19 a.m. Three tow trucks and an ambulance are en route to the scene. The SUV overturned into a small ditch, CHP officials said.

CHP officials issued a Sig-alert at 4:34 a.m., saying that the third and fourth lanes are blocked.

The first and second southbound lanes are still open, but officials recommend that commuters use alternate routes until further notice.
