Coroner IDs Allegedly Drunk Cyclist Killed Sunday
The 24-year-old man was hit by a car on Highway 85.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office has released the name of a bicyclist fatally struck by a car on state Highway 85 in Sunnyvale early Sunday morning as 24-year-old Merced resident Pedro Rodriguez.
California Highway Patrol officials said Rodriguez was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he was struck by a Ford Fusion at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday on southbound Highway 85 north of Fremont Avenue.
The Ford Fusion’s 34-year-old driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. CHP officials said she was not injured in the crash.
