Epic ACG Fest Coming Soon to Silicon Valley!

The Epic ACG Fest is returning to the Bay Area! Join us Halloween weekend as we celebrate animators, comic artists, and game designers. We have an incredible selection of films to screen.

We are partnering with O!PLA Animation Festival again this year. O!PLA is an organization dedicated to recognizing showcasing modern Polish animation. Their program O!PLA Focus on Poland is a prestigious selection of the best films their 2024 festival, all chosen by an audience jury. We were incredibly fortunate to partner with them last year and look forward to showing you what these amazing animators have made!

Nearly every continent is represented at his year’s EACG. Brazilian feature film ‘Abah and his Band’ will open the festival on Saturday morning. This is a musical adventure about a young prince in a kingdom of fruits. It introduces kids to big concepts like deforestation in a fun, approachable way.

We will also show several animated shorts from Iran. It is incredibly difficult for Iranian films to be distributed internationally due to sanctions, so we are proud to be giving a voice to these filmmakers. Screening films include Abdollah Alimorad’s stop-motion animated The Pearl (Let’s Make Peace).

French director Etienne Husson’s experimental documentaries are visual poems giving insight to contemporary struggles. Several music videos of British musician Benjamin Croft will also be screened. From China, we have exciting displays of new technology. Virtual reality films offer viewers a new perspective on Chinese architecture.

Cinema is not the only art form represented at EACG. We will also display comic art and illustrations. Allen Ling, writer and founder of GenSeven Creations, will present his graphic novels, including the recently published ‘The Rescuer’. Ling will also share his experiences in comics and films at his panel on Sunday.

The festival will conclude with the red carpet and award show. Bring your Halloween costume and get your picture taken alongside international stars! At the award ceremony, you’ll be dazzled by local performance groups, including Jane Huang Dance Academy and the Dunhuang Dance Theater.
