Last year, dozens of Los Altos businesses donated gift certificates for our winners. The Challenge starts on Earth Day, April 22, and runs for just two weeks. Why not try out a different way of getting around for that short period of time? Bike, walk, carpool, skateboard, jump on a pogo stick, or take public transportation. You can even form a group for your school, club or neighborhood and compete against other groups. It’s easy.

Set up your baseline so you can track your improvements. Once the contest starts, you’ll log your miles traveled, mode of transportation and purpose of trip (e.g. work, errands, school, etc.). Prizes are awarded for best performance and will be presented at a Bike! Walk! Win! party on Bike To Work Day, 5/10/12.
