Finding Medical Information Online

Learn how to find medical information online

Each of us will at some point be called on to make an important decision about our own health or that of a loved one. It’s easy enough to find health information on the Internet, but not always so easy to tell the difference between what to trust and what to trash. At this event, you’ll learn how to critically evaluate the health or medical information you find online, and where to turn for reliable resources.
We will talk about:
• How to decide whether or not to trust the information and advice you find online,
• How to find reliable information on any type of health condition or treatment, and
• Where to turn when you need help finding reliable information.
This event is intended for members of the general public – patients, parents, caregivers -- anyone who would like to gain confidence finding information about their health.
