"Hella is a legitimate word," my professor stated after a student asked if it is proper to include in a quote. My professor continued to explain that as students in the Bay Area who are interviewing other students from the Bay Area, it only makes sense to. The word "hella" has embedded itself so much in our everyday speech that the word itself is a mascot representing our Bay Area generation.
Now, in regards of my blog's title "Hella Global", I do not mean to say that I am going around the world blatantly and shamelessly inputing hella in all my sentences. THAT would be improper.
As the description says, I am an aspiring journalist and traveller. And, well, being born and raised in the Bay Area has enormously prepared me for these goals. The wide array of people and cultures here gives a sneak peek for what else the world has to offer.
I graduated last month from SJSU and quite frankly, I had enough sneak peeks. I am ready to explore the second half of this blog's title and I give hella credit to the Bay Area for preparing me for the next steps.
