Man Upset Over Insult Allegedly Threatens Construction Workers
A Mountain View man was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats after he allegedly pointed his gun at the workers, police said.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA —A 23-year-old Mountain View man was arrested this week on suspicion of making criminal threats and brandishing a firearm after he reportedly pointed a gun at two construction workers for insulting his brother, according to Mountain View police.
The construction workers called police at about 9 a.m. Tuesday and reported that while they were directing traffic near a construction site on Fairchild Drive, a man in a Honda became upset and began yelling at them, then brandished a gun, Mountain View police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said in a news release.
One of the officers who responded to the 600 block of Tyrella Avenue to speak with the workers saw the suspect vehicle a short distance away on San Ramon Avenue, Nelson said.

The officer stopped the driver, later identified as Anthony Martinez, and detained him.
After the construction workers positively identified him as the person who had brandished the gun at them, Martinez was placed under arrest.

"According to Martinez, he was upset because he believed one of the construction workers had insulted his brother recently while the brother and construction crews were at a business near the construction site," Nelson said.
Martinez may also be facing charges of possession of cannabis for sale after officers allegedly found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his car, the spokeswoman said.
