Motorcycle Cop Injured In Central Expressway Crash

The Mountain View officer was transported to a hospital after the accident near Shoreline, officials said.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – A Mountain View Police Department motorcycle officer was injured and transported to a hospital this afternoon in a Central Expressway collision that shut down eastbound lanes near Shoreline Boulevard, authorities said.

The officer was the only party in the crash reported at about 3:30 p.m., police said. Lanes reopened shortly before 5 p.m.

The department said the motorist involved is cooperating with the investigation and stated that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.

Any witnesses to the accident are asked to call Sgt. Bryan Albarillo at 650-903-6733.

Mountain view police urged "anyone on the road to be aware of their surroundings and to keep an eye out for bicyclists and motorcyclists traveling on Mountain View streets."
