MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday in Mountain View in a collision with a commuter bus contracted by Google, a Mountain View police official said Thursday. The crash was reported just before 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of Shoreline Boulevard and Plymouth Street, Mountain View Police Department Spokeswoman Katie Nelson said in a statement.

"When we arrived on scene, the [male] motorcyclist was found unresponsive in the roadway," Nelson said. "He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later."

Santa Clara County authorities did not immediately disclose the deceased's identity.

The fatal crash, which happened about a half-mile from Google's Amphitheatre Parkway headquarters, resulted in a closure of the intersection until about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Northbound traffic was diverted at Pear Avenue and southbound traffic was turned around at Space Park Way as the scene was investigated, Nelson said. An investigation into what may have caused the collision was continuing Thursday, she said.
