Mountain View’s Utility Relief Program Goes Live

(Mountain View, Calif.) — Mountain View residents are going to be getting a little more help from the City in the form of a new COVID-19 Utility Relief Program. Starting today, Mountain View residents who show COVID-19 related hardships and make 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) will receive a one-time $50 credit to reduce expenses during the local emergency declaration triggered by the pandemic.
The 80% AMI level includes residents who have an annual income of up to $78,550 for a one-person household and up to $148,050 for an eight-person household. Utility assistance through the City covers water, sewer, garbage and recycling use. It should also be noted that for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency declaration, and for a period of time thereafter, the City will not shut off utility services for non-payment of utility bills and will waive penalties and interest on late utility bill payments.
Residents who wish to apply may go to MountainVIew.gov/UtilityRelief, complete the application form and mail it to the Finance and Administrative Services Department, 500 Castro St. PO Box 7540, Mountain View, CA 94039-7540, or drop it off in the Utility Payments Drop Box to the left of the entrance of City Hall.
