WHAT: TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2016/2017 season with the regional premiere of Tony Award-nominated Outside Mullingar. Written by John Patrick Shanley, the Oscar, Pulitzer, and Tony Award-winning author of Moonstruck and Doubt, this wry romantic comedy tells the tale of two eccentric, lovelorn neighbors split apart by family feuds and rustic fences as they stumble their thorny way toward the brink of happiness. Set amidst the rustic cottages of rural Ireland, this funny, poetic, and deeply moving Broadway hit asks if it is ever too late to take a chance on love. Outside Mullingar was praised by The New York Times as “Shanley’s finest work since Doubt,” and will be directed by Robert Kelley.
