Pedestrian Fatality Under Investigation

The 46-year-old was declared dead at the scene, police said.

SUNNYVALE, CA – Police are investigating the death of a 46-year-old man who was hit and killed by a car Saturday night in Sunnyvale.

The victim was found unconscious at about 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of South Pastoria and
West Iowa avenues a few blocks west of the downtown area, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said.

Paramedics could not revive him, and he was declared dead at the scene. His name was not released.

The driver of the car that hit him remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said, adding that the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
